Blue Devils Come Out Swinging!

By Kerry K. Hoss

The Blue Devils are not wallowing over last year's disappointment.  They ended the 2009 regular season with a solid 6-6 record, yet they were slighted of a playoff berth.  The Devils use this experience as their motivation.

Expectations have been high this season, as they return a talented, experienced group of players to the field.  They are currently in first place in the Manhattan "B" South Division, with a 2-0 record.  The Baruch boys are coming off wins against Health Professions/Human Services (3-1) and Chelsea Career and Technical Education (8-3). Sophomore Charles Porcaro (1.00 ERA) earned the pitching victory in both games.  He was supported by an impressive defensive cast, and strong hitting performances from first baseman Lucas Vaz, shortstop Tommy Nellen, and third baseman Diego Gonzalez.

The Blue Devils are looking forward to earning their third victory of the season.  They will face Seward Park Campus (1-2) on Friday, April sixteenth.
