For the second straight season, Osceola was on the verge of representing the South division in the Pinellas County Athletic Conference championship game.
For the second straight season, St. Petersburg stood in the way.
The Green Devils, a fixture in the conference final, beat the Warriors 3-2 on Monday. The result was similar to last season when St. Petersburg knocked off Osceola in a close, division-clinching game.
This time, the Green Devils rallied from a 2-1 deficit, scoring two runs in the top of the fourth inning to take the lead for good. Clarence Wilson had two hits and an RBI and Kyle Chavez hit a double to lead St. Petersburg on offense. Chavez did the rest, striking out four and holding the Warriors scoreless in the final four innings.
The Green Devils will host defending conference champion Dunedin on Friday.
