Hawthorne 28, Saddle Brook 13

Sophomore quarterback Ryan Hollis passed and rushed for scores and running back Anthony Giannella ran for two touchdowns when Hawthorne defeated Saddle Brook, 28-13, yesterday in Hawthorne.


Hollis burst over from three yards for a score in the first period and Giannella started with TD runs of five and three yards in the second.


Kenny Fernandez caught a 15-yard scoring pass from Steve Bonaventure when Saddle Brook broke through just before halftime.


Tyler Johnson broke free and grabbed an 8-yard TD toss when Hawthorne enjoyed a 28-7 lead in the third quarter.
