Current Record (1-4)
Next Game: Thursday April 14th 4:00 pm at Port Richmond High School Field against the Curtis Warriors (1-2)
With a third of the season just about done the Raiders look to end the first third of the season on a high note. On Wednesday April 14th, the Varsity Raiders will be up against the Curtis High School Warriors, a team that has won one game and lost twice, but there one win came against the Raiders on Monday April 12th, where the Warriors beat the Raiders 11-0 at Curtis High School Field. On Thursday, the game will be held at Port Richmond High School at 4:00 pm. The Raiders are planning to have Thomas Curry (TC) on the hill on Thursday. He is a Junior who has recorded no wins and one loss, but has a promising 2.33 ERA in 12 innings pitched and has 7 strikeouts.
The Raiders record stands at 1-4 right now. They are not having many problems though. They have a good starting staff including (J) Thomas “TC” Curry and (S) Jonathan Aponte, a solid bullpen consisting of (S) Marc Dietrich, (J) Shane Silverance and (So) John Paul Shields. Shields pitched last game and did struggle, but teammate (J) John Revilla says “He has a lot of talent, and by his senior year he should develop into a very good pitcher being on Varsity for three years. He’ll learn, he just has to focus more. Once he does, he’ll be hard to hit.”
This is the Port Richmond Raiders Starting line-up
Name | Grade | Position | Batting Avg. | Hits | RBI |

D. Carreon | Senior | Shortstop | .385 | 5 | 0 |

M. Violetta | Junior | Left Field | .000 | 0 | 0 |
D. Caldwell | Junior | Catcher | .182 | 2 | 0 |
Pitcher | - | - | - | - | - |
(Note: Port opts to have there third basemen not hit, (So.) Frank Deleon so they have a DH and a P hit. Also, when J. Aponte pitches, (J) John Revilla takes his spot in the batting order and Aponte goes down to ninth.)
The starting line-up for the Raiders has been struggling in the early parts of the season, but the fielding isn’t all that bad according to (J) John Revilla. Last Game the Raiders had some errors, but for the most part this is not a bad fielding team.
Coach Sce and the Raiders look to end the first third of the season on a high note by beating the Curtis Warriors, who have already beaten Port Richmond this week. If they win there record will stand at 2-4 and will give them a little momentum heading into the next third of the season. This is a young team for the most part, but they have talent and you have to respect that. They never give up and they play there hearts out every game. Come support the Raiders this Thursday at 4pm at Port Richmond High School Baseball Field!
