Any Last Words?: 2008 All-City Offensive Lineman Colin Ukeje

The senior shares his thoughts on the 2009 Port Richmond Raiders

Last season, Port Richmond was dominant in every aspect of the game. They had a great running game, passing game, defense, and even special teams. People give all the credit in the world too superstars like Jeremy Ramos, Torian Phillips, Zamel Johnson and Sean Johnson. They deserve a lot of credit, but the offensive line was a huge part of Port Richmond's success this past season. If it were not for the offensive line that included players Colin Ukeje, Antwan McGriff, Richie Barisciano, Derek Ramos and Phillip Terra, Jeremy Ramos may not have had the protection he needed to be successful or Torian wouldn't have got the blocking he needed to score thirty touchdowns!

Colin Ukeje was one of many players on the Raiders to be an All-City Player. He wore number fifty-eight and is going to a division two college next year. When asked about this upcoming season and replacing the five starting offensive line Colin stated that "Bird and Jajaga at guard; I look forward to seeing what they do next year. Both of them worked against us(the offensive line) during practice a lot." Bird or Nathaniel Ryan will be starting at center this up-coming season and Veron Jajaga is a sophomore who will be fighting with junior Juan Morero most likely for one of the starting guard positions. As for the other guard position John Hines will be put into that spot. Coling believes Hines is going to have a phenomenal season, stating "Hines is gonna dominate." Hines competed at the level of all the 20 seniors leaving for two years now, so expect him to dominate like Colin said.
